Columbus State University (CSU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs. This position is housed under the Office of the Provost and reports directly to the Vice Provost. The successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to advance sponsored research and grant writing through engagement, collaboration, and innovation.

The Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is responsible for the development and operation of the Office of Sponsored Programs. The Director will have the opportunity of developing and working with a faculty advisory group that includes Human Resources and Financial Services, in the development of strategies and plans to improve and expand research opportunities at Columbus State University (CSU), as well as expanding the campus, regional, and national profile of CSU and OSP. The Director of the OSP is responsible for several key functions that impact OSP and CSU, such as: education among the CSU faculty and administration about grant opportunities and management; development of relevant training regarding research proposal development, monitoring, and reporting, as well as training concerning IRB proposal development and ethical treatment of human subjects; assist with post award management of grants, assistance with compliance audits, development of manual and automated proposal and report tracking systems; and development of routine and periodic (e.g., annual) reports. The Director coordinates this work with appropriate other offices. OSP will seek out opportunities, disseminate grant opportunities, provide training on grant topics, and coach faculty and staff on grant submissions
