Hi Charles,

While I agree with both yours and Michael comments, I have been specifically requested by the College of Engineering Research Dean (after having spent an hour meeting with me, and then another hour meeting with both our VP and AVP) for samples of successful engineering proposals.  Thus, I turn to my esteemed colleagues who may be in a position to either assist directly with proposals they may have in their library/libraries, and/or who may be able point me towards where I can access such proposals, as I am loathe to go down the path of telling a dean all the reasons why his request may not be the best course of action.

I'm sure both of you will agree that sometimes all we can do is nod, agree, and do the best we can to provide excellent customer service to our faculty, particularly when it is someone whose paygrade is well above ours.
