Re: Help request for upgrading electronic Research Administration (eRA) system

Hello,
1. What eRA system do you currently use?
Streamlyne Research eRA
2. What are the built in module(s) of your system (are Pre-award and Post-award integrated in it)?
Right now we’re live in production with the pre-award module with S2S and have started to integrate the IRB protocol functions. We recently started the second phase of implementation, focusing right now on the award module with integration to Banner (our financial system), the subaward module, and pre/post-award reports and dashboards. Once this phase of implementation is completed, we will start on COI and compliance reports and dashboards. While the number of our IACUC protocols is increasing, we have not yet scheduled the integration of this module, though we do own it.
3. Does your system interphase with other modules such as components of compliance i.e. IRB, IACUC, Biosafety etc.?
The system delivers integrated IRB, IACUC and COI modules. Biosafety is being developed by the company currently.
4. Do you consider the interphase(s) necessary and/or useful?
We are working on integrating the award data from Streamlyne to Banner to reduce keying overhead/errors. When this is completed, I believe it will result in a much more efficient workflow between our pre-award and post-award groups (in the past the two groups have kept their own files related to an award; Streamlyne will allow the two groups to share a single set of electronic files connected to an award). From a management point of view, I also believe it will provide an easier reporting mechanism (currently too much of our reporting is inefficient and relies too much on manual processes).
We are using the delivered sponsor integration that updates sponsor data in Streamlyne from Banner so that we don’t have to manually maintain sponsor data in both systems. We are also using delivered HR integrations to maintain users, user status, and any associated HR data. This ensures that the our research office is entirely out of the business of user maintenance.
5. Do you have any suggestions/ ideas about how to efficiently submit JIT information?
We’re still doing this directly through the Commons interface at this point, and tracking that event as a note/attachment in Streamlyne.
I'd be happy to discuss our use of Streamlyne or our processes in more detail if it would be helpful. I can be reached at the phone number or email address below.
Best Regards,
Eric
