First, and most importantly, thank you to all the folks who took time out
of their busy days to complete our survey.
We got some really interesting feedback and since I didn't request any of
your personal information this is the only forum I can provide any answers
in (sorry folks).
Some of you picked the "other" option and included comments such as we
need 3 months, 6 months, and some even a year or more to evaluate a single
module. This group made up about 23% of the total responses. I think this
was our fault for not better explaining what we're going to provide.
These answers make perfect sense in the common sand box approach where
you're in with everyone else. The environment we plan to provide is
unique to a specific institution and we're confident folks can start using
them immediately for productive work. Setup is super simple and access to
help files for more details will be readily available. Finally we will
have a portal for issues that folks can reach out to as well as a listserv
so you'll get timely help.
On to the results. Of the remaining responses it was about two thirds for
30 days and the remaining third for two weeks or less. We were strongly
leaning towards two weeks because of the things I mentioned above but
given the responses we're going to start with 30 days for the first few
months and survey folks who go through the process to determine the best
process for down the road.
If this thread interests you stay tuned as we should be announcing a
release date fairly soon. We're already providing guided demonstrations so
if you'd like to get a sneak peek feel free to drop me a line (offline).
We're still monitoring the survey so if you'd like to make your voice
heard please feel free to provide your feedback.
Best regards,
Chris Thompson
