When I calculated the IDC rate at my last institution, we had Wells Fargo P-Cards that offered cash back. We reduced our direct costs by the amount of the rebate attributable to grant activity. Thus, the overall IDC rate would be reduced, in essence applying the rebate through a lower recovery rate on the indirect costs.
