This is a new position added to the team of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) at SUNY New Paltz. The OSP team is responsible for all aspects of pre-award and post-award contract and grant administration.

Duties:
Reporting to the AVP for Sponsored Programs/RF Operations Manager, the Analyst will manage pre-award and post award for a diverse and defined portfolio of grants and contracts supporting research programs at SUNY New Paltz. This Senior Staff position will manage the full life cycle of an award from searching for funding opportunities through to close out processes.

The position will:
 •	Support faculty and administration in searches for appropriate funding opportunities for their areas of interest and in support of the institution’s strategic initiatives.
 •	Fulfill administrative review of grant and contract proposals and budgets and submit approved proposals to sponsors.
 •	Be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and financial projections, and will advise and support Principal Investigators in the management of their awards in alignment with federal, state and non-profit sponsor regulations and institutional policies, requirements, and procedures.
 •	Explain regulations to Principle Investigators and Departments across the campus to ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor policies.
 •	Develop and implement office procedures to support institution policy and promote efficient and effective research administration services.
 •	Participate in development and delivery of training and outreach programs.
 •	Perform other duties as assigned, including participation on committees and working groups for the enhancement and/or development of new processes and technologies.

This is a two-year, temporary position with the possibility for a permanent position depending on performance and proven value of the position to meeting the institution’s goals of increasing sponsored program activity.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of research administration experience required. We are looking for an experienced research administrator. Candidates without a background in research administration will not be competitive.
