Responsibilities:  The Contracts, Communications and Training Officer (CCTO)) is the Research Development Services (RDS) lead for development and submission of all Medical Center research contract proposals and applications, ensuring that all contract-specific administrative and compliance related requirements are met.  The position reports directly to the RDS DD and works closely with the SOPPO and Sr. Associate VP for Sponsored Research on multi-component opportunities. In addition, the CCTO works closely with the RDS DD to develop, implement and maintain all training and communications for the Office of Research Development Services (RDS).  This includes, but is not limited to, proposal-related training for investigators, including post-doctoral and graduate students and proposal development-related training for RDS staff and GUMC faculty and staff.  The CCTO also develops and provides training to RDS staff on the appropriate use of sponsored-research related electronic routing and tracking systems and processes, including, but not limited to, TRACS, STARS, PACTS and SMORES, as detailed by Georgetown, OSR and RDS policies.  As needed, the CCTO will also oversee training and support to staff and faculty of RDS on use of relevant electronic systems.  The CCTO works closely with the RDS DD to manage and maintain the RDS website and other means of communication employed by RDS.

Degree: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in a high-volume setting, ideally in an academic environment.

Qualifications:
•	Expertise in electronic grants submissions through Grants.gov and other electronic portals
•	Familiarity with all components of NIH, NSF and DOD grants and contracts, including knowledge of OMB A-21, A-110, A-133, and OMB uniform guidance
•	Experience and expertise in multi-program, multi-institutional budget and proposal development for complex federal funding mechanisms
•	Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced academic setting
•	Editing skills, ideally in science or medical field
•	Certified Research Administration (CRA) strongly preferred
•	Experience with training and creating training materials
•	Experience in creating and supporting electronic systems to enhance workflow
•	Experience in electronic grants submissions through Grants.gov and other electronic portals
•	Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced academic setting
