3459, Clinical Research Nurse Manager
Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:
This is an exciting key leadership position in the Clinical Trials Unit. The person in this position will be the primary point- of-contact with City of Hope community practices which are projected to grow substantially in the next 5 years.
Provides leadership to faculty (medical, surgical and basic science) on developing, composing and implementing protocols for clinical trials. Clearly delineates roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for protocol initiation. Responsible for creating and implementing decision trees. Will determine which investigator-initiated protocols move forward. Responsible for initiating training programs, as needed.
Will present to internal and external groups on study activations, protocols, SPOS and other topics, as needed.
The Clinical Research Nurse Manager supports high-quality research, customer service excellence and fiscal responsibility while serving as a direct link between the clinical research staff and the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) administration. The Clinical Research Nurse Manager will provide consistent leadership and oversight of the daily operations of the various solid tumor disease teams within the Clinical Trials Office (CTO), ensure competent and standardized staff practices, and coordinate strategies to enhance interdepartmental communication and collaboration.
The position directly supervises Clinical Research Nurses and Clinical Trials Administrators; and indirectly supervises Clinical Research Coordinators and Biospecimen Coordinators.
Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing, plus five (5) years of related experience.
• Current California RN license. If out of state, must obtain CA RN license within 90 days of start date.
• Prefer Certification/Licensure in: Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN, AOCN, AOCNS, or AOCNP) and certification by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA).
• Five to ten years clinical research and supervisory experience, oncology preferred.
