We include the escalation factor in budgets . . .much like with the salary cap, if you don't ask for it, you won't get it, even if the rules change down the road during the life of the grant.

I haven't seen this notice yet (I'm on the list-serv...but perhaps it hasn't come through yet...) could you post a link?

(at first blush it looks like no COLAs...whether modular or detailed... (and this seems to jive with what's been happening in the last couple of years with NIH...)

Hi-

NIH has said     "Inflationary increases for future year commitments will be discontinued for all competing research grant awards issued in FY 2013."

Does anyone know what happens if increases are included in non-modular budgets?  Are these specifically mentioned when the budget is cut?

And what about modular budgets?  Increases are not built in???
