Re: location, location, location

We provided a campus to office shuttle for paperwork twice a day, but posted prominently that paper proposals submitted on deadline had to be brought to the office. We provided a parking space dedicated to client drop off close to the building and implemented an electronic grants management system. We reorganized to provide more personalized assistance. There was ample meeting and conference space in the new location which was previously lacking, but we went to them when needed. Oh, and free Starbucks coffee didn't hurt, either!

(Apologies for the previous incomplete message!)
Due to circumstances beyond my control, my office has recently moved 5 miles off-campus. We're a predominantly undergraduate institution with an enrollment of around 5,000. My office is intended to be the centralized grants office for the university, and the past 3 years have been primarily about familiarizing faculty with policy and procedure. Yet just when faculty were getting comfortable dropping by my office, I'm moved to a new location where 'dropping by' requires a car. My new supervisor and I are brainstorming the best approach in overcoming the off-campus obstacle. Does anyone have experience in a similar situation or have suggestions?
Thanks!
Jeanie
