Research Reporting Analyst
(Information Systems Analyst 1, UCP 6)
Position Summary
The Office for Sponsored Programs, the centralized research administration office for the University of Connecticut, is seeking an energetic self-starter to join our research and financial data analysis and reporting team.
The Research Reporting Analyst will provide technical assistance related to the reporting databases and systems for the Office for Sponsored Programs. The full position description for this position can be found at www.osp.uconn.edu.
Job Summary
Characteristic duties and responsibilities include business process analysis and database design; management, retrieval and analysis of personnel, financial and other data utilizing Oracle SQL Developer, WebFOCUS, Hyperion/Brio, Crystal Reports, Access or other business intelligence applications; statistical and narrative report writing, development of training, procedures and documentation for users; research, review, testing and evaluation of potential new systems; other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a computer, scientific or business-related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience; demonstrated experience programming, processing and analyzing large datasets; demonstrated abilities in analytical reasoning and logical problem solving; excellent written and verbal communication skills especially in conversion of technical information to lay reports; high level of motivation, initiative and responsibility. Other desirable qualifications include experience with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, InfoEd or Kuali Financial Systems (KFS); experience with SQL programming, Crystal Reports, FOCUS or WebFOCUS; experience in research administration, fiscal management, institutional research or exploratory data analysis a plus.
Appointment Terms
This is a permanent, full-time, twelve-month position, with a competitive salary and benefit package, and a target start date of June 28, 2013.
