The Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) is seeking candidates to serve on its Board of Directors. The Board is the governing body of the RACC, responsible for oversight of the administration of the organization, as well as the validity of its Certified Research Administrator (CRA) and Certified Pre-award Research Administrator (CPRA) examinations.

The term of office begins on September 13 at the end of the annual meeting of the Board and continues for three years. Members of the Board may serve no more than two consecutive three-year terms.

To serve, you are required to be:

 *   a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Pre-award Research Administrator (CPRA) and maintain the credential throughout the term of service
 *   actively involved in research administration throughout the term of service
 *   able to attend two meetings of the Board each year (The 2013 fall Board meeting will be September 13-15 in Las Vegas. The spring Board meeting will be on a mutually agreed upon date. RACC will pay your travel costs (
 *   according to our travel reimbursement policy) for this trip.)
 *   able to meet by way of conference call or GoToMeeting.com technology (internet access required), when needed

The RACC is looking for committed Board members who are willing to roll up their sleeves and volunteer time to the work of the organization. Board members may be asked to serve on committees, review exams, present Body of Knowledge review sessions, etc. depending on the skills each member brings to the Board.

The deadline for nominations is April 19. Nomination materials must include:

 *   a letter indicating why you wish to serve on the Board and what contributions you believe you can make
 *   a brief resume (4 page max) highlighting only those professional areas you think will be of benefit to RACC
 *   a letter of reference from someone other than a current Board member
