Post-Award Administrator Position Description

Position Summary:
The Grants Administrator is responsible for all activities in support of post-award management of Federal grant and contract awards issued to MultiCare Health System. S/he works closely with the Institute’s leadership, Principal Investigators, project team leads and program staff during award initiation, throughout the duration of the project and award period, and at award closeout.

Minimum Requirements:
-Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience in managing and/or developing Federal grant applications, (preferably research grants with NIH, NSF, AHRQ or HRSA), 4 – 5 years experience preferred
-Proven track record of success in grant management

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
-Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
-Masters Degree preferred

Expectations and required job duties and accountabilities

-Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state rules and regulations governing the administration of sponsored projects OMB A110, A122, and A133, NIH, Appendix E of 45 CFR Part 74.
-Coordinate new award start-up with Pre-Award Grants Administrator and conduct all start-up activities associated with new awards and projects.
–Review and facilitate all award correspondence with Sponsor to include prior approvals, notifications of project changes, and award revisions or renewals.
–Initiate, draft, and manage subcontracts, subawards, and consultant agreements.
–Work with the Grants & Contracts Accountant to support billing, monthly budget report generation and distribution, and sponsor financial reports.
–Analyze financial spend-down of award in conjunction with programmatic progress. Provide guidance to program lead or Principal Investigator as needed.
