We are looking for a strategic and intuitive leader who can proactively contribute to the collaborative development and enhancement of the College’s financial and administrative operations. Working closely with the Dean and academic leadership, the successful candidate will manage approximately $8 million dollar budget and fiscal operations related to a variety of funding sources including the state, various endowments, grants and contracts. Accomplishments are directly influenced by this professional’s guidance and hands-on energies contributing to the College’s ability to anticipate and respond to the financial challenges facing higher education. Working effectively with the Provost Office and the University’s Budget and Comptroller offices, this successful professional will prepare and administer the annual budget and supplemental funding. Additional partnering with the Office of Sponsored Research provides this leader the opportunity to explore increased funding in accordance with federal, state and UB policies. Working in collaboration with the University’s Office of Human Resources, this effective professional coordinates faculty and staff recruitments and appointments while advising the Dean on the use of vacancies and tracking salary savings. Considering the direct and in-direct efforts of this achievement-oriented professional, he or she is expected to meet the qualifications of a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, accounting, finance or related field with 5-7 years of related progressive business and/or administrative experience. Knowledgeable and experienced candidates with a Master’s degree and/or higher education experience are a plus. If advanced in this recruitment, the qualified candidate is expected to articulate his or her proven expertise in financial analysis and reporting, knowledge of budget, procurement and grants management, familiarity with workforce management programs and knowledge of PeopleSoft or other ERP financial tools and technology. Additionally, demonstrated experience in strategic analytical thinking, networking and proactive partnering, excellent organizational abilities and effective and tactful communication skills exhibiting credibility, trust and confidentiality are all must have’s for this professional.
