Hi Jared,

We submitted 6 IOS preproposals last year with no issue despite the warnings-- and yes, we submitted the proposal classification form.

If your PI is still uncomfortable, I suppose you could upload filler documents that say "Not required for a pre-proposal" to quell his anxiety.

Good afternoon folks,

I am writing to anyone who recently submitted a NSF IOS Preliminary Proposal via FASTLANE.

1) Have you folks submitted despite the warnings that will generate in the FASTLANE proposal check (despite not being required at this preproposal phase)?

2) Did you also submit the proposal classification form required for submissions to BIO directorates?

Thank you for sharing your tactics. The PI is not comfortable seeing those errors despite the statements "will not prevent submission".

Contact me in the easiest manner for you all.
