Our institution would consider the separate contracts as two distinct and different workloads. Typically it's the opposite situation - a full-time person with effort committed to a project also has an adjunct position. In that instance, we count effort only on the full-time contract.

In your situation, we would have the person complete the effort certification only on the 10% of the adjunct's time and not include the full-time contract.

Subject: [RESADM-L] effort question

I have an effort question about a full-time staff person who also has a separate contract to teach as an adjunct at the same institution for the current semester.

The institution has a cost-share for a grant that includes 10% of the adjunct's time for the current semester for the one class that s/he teaches.

Does the person in question complete an effort form only for the separate contract as an adjunct for the cost-share, or does the effort form need to include both the full-time job and the adjunct role?

Thank you!
