Department of Defense’s Item Unique Identification (IUID)
TED MORDHORST 23 May 2012 11:35 EST
The University of Washington is working to become IUID compliant for purchases of government property under Department of Defense grants and contracts that come through our institution. We are interested in learning more about the progress other higher ed institutions have made to become IUID compliant.
If you are willing to answer the below questions, please feel free to respond directly to Erin Fay at xxxxxx@uw.edu. Thank you for your time.
Are you prepared for Item Unique Identification (IUID) compliance?
How are you planning to report items to the UID registry?
If your institution is planning to manually enter items into the registry: What made you decide to use that method of entry? Would you be willing to discuss further by phone?
What have you heard from the Office of Naval Research on the topic?
How comfortable are you with the guidance that is out there for higher education institutions?
