Michael is correct – Jennifer Shambrook (at St. Jude's) conducted a survey on the perceptions of stress in research administrators. If you search Google, you should be able to find an NCURA article about the study she did as part of her dissertation.

It's timely that this comes up, as I'm pursuing my Ph.D. and considering research administration as the focus for my research!

I think you're referring to a study of research administrators conducted by Jennifer Shambrook which analyzed what you mentioned....I'm sorry but I don't know which institution Jennifer is at but folks on the listserv will know.....
