Working in our Office of Sponsored Research, the institute’s pre-award office, the Sponsored Projects Officer III is responsible for providing grant management and administrative/fiscal support to Principal Investigators who are recipients of research grants, sub awards and internally funded projects; review and negotiate all master agreements and awards providing funding or other support for research, ensuring they are wholly consistent with the requirements of Children’s policy, relevant sponsor policies, and all applicable state and federal laws. Review subrecipient applications and prime awards to Children’s, drafting and negotiating subrecipient agreements in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations; oversee all required subrecipient monitoring associated with Children’s obligations as a flow-through entity under OMB Circular A-133. Assist and provide direction in the entire contracting process for contracts, including budget negotiation and contract finalization. Serve as the primary point of contact between Seattle Children’s Research Institute, its sponsors and sub-recipients, ensuring that all administrative requirements associated with the submission of applications, acceptance and conduct of awards, and issuance and monitoring of sub-awards are met.

Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years experience within the grants and contracts arena, and/or contracting experience, with emphasis in language/contract term review and recommendation.

Preferred:
- Juris Doctor degree
- Certified Research Administrator
- Experience with the administration of awards from the National Institute of Health and/or federal grants
- Experience with private foundation grants and awards.
