Subject: Faculty research appointments/Conflict of Interest
Fellow Research Administrators I need your assistance and input. We have
a faculty member from another institution that wants to submit a grant
to NSF through our institution and be listed as the PI. She wants to
have a research appointment at our institution and conduct the research
at our institution. However, her institution wants funding from the
grant for her release time from her teaching commitments. So, I would
like to know has anyone else out there ever encountered this situation
and if so how did you handle it. Keep in mind that my institution and
the other institution are both state institutions.
