I thought there was an update coming for Banner Self-Service that allowed drill down to salary detail?  I know historically, and probably still, this information is summary only, but the change was forthcoming.

Kris-

We don’t grant them access to Banner. We send them the pdf reports. But we do have a way they can access the information from the web where they are just accessing read only, not actually accessing Banner. Our associate director, Heather Nelson, interfaces with IT reports like this. Polly, you also use Banner, is the only way to get the detailed salary information to the PIs to send them hard copies? Do you also find that for the online reports, they cannot get access to just their accounts?

Same issue here at Oakland U. We use Banner and apparently there is no way to only grant partial access to certain accounts. Very frustrating.

Hello all,

It’s recently come to light that due to some security issues with our online financial system our PIs do not have access to detailed salary information – apparently it’s an all or nothing issue, either you have access to all the salary details for all accounts or you have access to none, but you can’t choose to have access given to a certain person for just their grant accounts.

I don’t know if many of you are in positions to know this, but at your institutions, can your PIs go online to their financial statements and see salary details, by name of employee, for just their accounts? I am wondering if this is a general problem or just with our particular system.
