Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONE Although many years ago, I recall a blind research professor whose wife was his caretaker and the NSF grant paid for her to travel with him to scientific meetings. This arrangement was made very clear in the proposal budget justification. Jane F. If a person, who is blind, is hired to give a presentation, and the person must travel to get to the conference, would the federal grant also pay the travel expense (airline & meals) for the person bringing him/her to the conference? The grant is covering the travel expense for the person who is blind, but what about their caregiver? It would seem reasonable to allow this expense. Is there any federal guidelines for this?
