We call it Academic Year Time. Attached is the memo from our Provost. In
both Schools of Engineering and Natural Sciences the money goes to the PI,
salary and fringe. Each department has a choice as to whether they want to
take a percentage for the department. Those percentages run from 5% to 20%.

Does anyone out there have a policy that allows departments and PIs to
recover some or all of the general operating funds saved when the PI charges
a portion of his or her salary to a sponsored project account? Here, we
call it the Salary Savings Incentive Plan. I'm actually more interested in
the mechanics than the policy itself. Thanks in advance for the help.
