For government websites in general, I try to use Internet Explorer, rather
than Firefox or something else. Not using IE can cause weird things to
happen. Clearing your browser's cache can help also (see Tools or
Preferences). I have not had a problem with Windows 7.

A-Musings
Let’s talk about ME! While I may
not be a role model, I can share
some hard-earned insights and
silliness. In this column I talk a
bit about how I was lucky enough
to find you folks and fall in love
with all the craziness that is
research administration. I was not
always the suave cosmopolite you
know today, you know. You don’t
develop this veneer of
professional competence and class
overnight. “Where have you gone
Joe DiMaggio? A nation turns its
lonely eyes to you (Woo woo woo).”

Stump the Champs
What do you tell a PI when their
NIH proposal isn’t funded? The PI
may wonder if the peer review
process is really fair. NIH peer
reviewer and SRA Distinguished
Faculty, Victoria (Tori) Molfese,
answers this question in this
month’s “Stump the Champs” column.

Pulse
SRA Catalyst Pulse surveyed
research administrators this month
about cultural diversity. The
survey asked what was the best
thing about cultural diversity,
what was something useful one
could do to ease transition for
someone coming into a “foreign”
environment, and something amusing
they would like to share about
their experiences with cultural
diversity. Read more.

Tech Bytes
Sometimes when you start a
technical project you have a
feeling, a theory, that you either
hope is, or is not, true. Such was
the case for a series of process
and technical improvements we
accomplished. But the most
surprising thing wasn't even the
technical revelations. Read more.
