We don't cap--our faculty are 9-month and we allow up to 3 full summer months. However, when budgeting for this, I always lightly remind faculty that, if they do full summer pay, it is for full summer effort, and that means no extended trips to DisneyWorld or grandma's with the spouse and kids. Often, faculty will rethink their request and will back off to 2.5 - 2.75 months just so they can get a little break. Barbara Barbara H. Gray, M.P.H. Do any of you currently limit summer comp from sponsored activities & if so, do you have a process by which exceptions are granted? Can you please share that process and any certifications or forms you use in evaluating/documenting? Many thanks to everyone... -jen -- Jennifer Donais, MPA, CRA Associate Director Office of Grant & Contract Administration Research Administration Building 70 Butterfield Terrace University of Massachusetts Amherst, MA 01003 (413) 545-5888 FAX (413) 577-1595 http:://www.umass.edu/research/ogca Notice: This email (including attachments)is covered by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, 18 U.S.C. §§ 2510-2521, is confidential and may be legally privileged.
