An Invitation to SRA Catalyst Michael DeShazo 22 Mar 2011 11:48 EST

In science a catalyst is "a substance that enables a chemical reaction to proceed at a usually faster rate or under different conditions than otherwise possible; an agent that provokes or speeds significant change or action" (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary (m-w.com)). Since 1967 the Society of Research Administrators International has been precisely that by providing countless professional meetings, the award-winning Journal of Research Administration, and numerous resources and support to research administrators around the world.

And we're doing it again with SRA Catalyst - our new monthly e-newsletter!

One of our driving principals is having content that is specifically member driven and community contributed. Each month we hope to stimulate discussion among the research administration community through such columns as "Stump the Champs" and "A-musing" contributed by SRA members. It is with that purpose that in launching SRA Catalyst it was named by SRA members Steve McLean, Tonya Edvalson and Suzan Lund.

SRA Catalyst is a members' benefit for those who belong to SRA, but with the launch of this new endeavor we would like everyone to have a chance to see what SRA has to offer.

So please accept our invitation to come see the first edition of SRA Catalyst (http://www.sra2011.org/sra-catalyst/march/index.php) - creating a difference for research administrators around the world.
