SPECIALIST-SENIOR (3 Positions)

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is currently seeking to fill three (3) full-time University Grants and Contracts Specialist-Senior vacancies in the Office of Sponsored Programs within the Graduate School.

Job Duties: University Grants and Contracts Specialist-Senior positions are primarily responsible for working with faculty and staff to prepare grant proposals to potential sponsors and finalize award documentation.
Specific duties include developing proposal/contract budgets; applying knowledge of agency, Federal, State, and institutional regulations and policies in preparing proposals; making required modifications to proposal/contract language; reviewing proposals/contracts for compliance with funding agency requirements; and applying knowledge of agency, Federal, State, and institutional policies in submitting proposals/contracts. These positions are also responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and processing grant and contract acceptance documents noting publication restrictions, confidentiality clauses, intellectual property rights, and liability/insurance clauses. In addition, University Grants and Contracts Specialists-Senior review, negotiate, and process proprosal/contract revisions; coordinate documentation reviews with various offices; and obtain required approvals on documentation.
Type of Employment & Salary: This is a full time position (40 hrs/week) and the starting pay for the range is $45,990 per year, plus a generous benefits package. A six-month probationary period is required.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Highly qualified candidates will possess knowledge of relevant State, Federal, and Non-Federal fiscal and administrative rules, regulations, and procedures (i.e., OMB circulars A-21, A-133, and A-110); knowledge of effective written and verbal communication techniques, including presentation skills; knowledge of data retrieval, mathematical/computational, and statistical analysis techniques; and knowledge of policies and procedures related to extramural support.
