Add Huron to your list--I had at one time talked with them about this kind of consultancy. My guess is that some of the other firms that work with higher ed--Maximus, etc., do this sort of thing, too. Barbara Barbara H. Gray, M.P.H. Larry >>> Carolyn Elliott-Farino <xxxxxx@KENNESAW.EDU> 1/4/2011 12:05 PM >>> Lawrence, What about NCURA? The NCURA Peer Review Program is a powerful tool for enhancing your sponsored programs operations. This review is available to all NCURA members. The completely confidential peer review is conducted by a team of nationally recognized research administrators who thoroughly review the sponsored programs area. The review utilizes National Standards that represent the core and vital functions of sponsored programs-regardless of size and type of institution. At the completion of the evaluation, the institution receives a detailed confidential report that provides valuable feedback addressing program strengths and areas for improvement. This feedback assists the sponsored programs office in providing quality services, minimizing risk, and promoting a positive culture for research administration. Support your commitment to providing a high quality sponsored programs operation by having an NCURA Peer Review. For questions or further information on the NCURA Peer Review Program, contact Peggy Lowry at (503) 364-1847 or xxxxxx@ncura.edu http://www.ncura.edu/content/peer_to_peer_review/ -----Original Message----- From: Research Administration List [mailto:xxxxxx@hrinet.org] On Behalf Of Lawrence Waxler Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2011 11:53 AM To: xxxxxx@hrinet.org Subject: [RESADM-L] Sponsored Programs Office Review My institution – the University of Southern Maine – is seeking a consultant to do a review of our Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). The University is in the midst of a major reorganization and is looking at what our research mission is/should be, how we should be structured, what services we should provide (centralized vs. decentralized model), etc. If any of you have engaged such a consultant, or know of a group that may be interested in carrying out a review, please let me know. Many thanks and Happy New Year. Larry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Larry Waxler, Director Office of Sponsored Programs University of Southern Maine 15 Baxter Boulevard P.O.
