Hi Janet,
This happened to me with a proposal that I submitted last Friday. The verification email (the one sent after the 2-day window expires) was received successfully this morning.
We think this might be a problem with NIH's automated e-mail system (similar to the problem they were having with delinquent report notices being sent on unfunded proposals).
