Research Grant Manager II

Dartmouth College welcomes applicants for the position of Research Grant
Manager II in the Arts and Sciences division. This pre-award and
post-award position provides grant management support to faculty members
in several academic departments including informing faculty of funding
opportunities, assisting in proposal development, and providing
assistance with the financial management of awarded projects.

Specifically, the Research Grant Manager II assists faculty and senior
research staff in preparing proposal submissions to external funding
sources including developing project budgets and supplemental material.
The incumbent also interprets award terms and advises faculty and
research staff on compliance with College and agency policies, assists
faculty with the financial management of sponsored projects, and
determines appropriate expenditure levels to avoid cost overruns. Post
award activities also include oversight of personnel/payroll processes
for all appointments to research accounts including faculty offsets and
summer supplements.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work
independently or in teams with a variety of academic and administrative
colleagues and with multiple PI's under deadline pressure. He or she
should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a
bachelor's degree in business administration, science or the equivalent
combination of education and experience and should have five years
experience in the full range of grant and contract management and
accounting in a educational setting.
