office does not provide any assistance to faculty with their reporting
requirements.  Our office will submit the report on behalf of the
faculty member when needed.

Our post-award office prepares all of the financial reports related to
grants and contracts, however, technical or narrative reports are the
responsibility of the PI.

Subject: NSF annual reports

We had a message from a PI today, concerned that she would have to
submit
progress reports for her two grants before she would be able to submit
another proposal. (Both reports are now "due" but will not be "overdue"
until August and September.) A colleague at a state university (not here
in
Georgia) reported this to her. This is part of her message:

It seems that the NSF systems will not accept proposals from PIs who are
due
with their progress reports; the progress reports should be submitted
and
approved by the program officer before a PI should be able to submit
other
proposals to NSF. Are you aware of something like that?

I've explained to her that NSF starts calling for annual progress
reports 90
days out and that the reports can be submitted any time in that 90 day
window, but I was wondering if this could be true for reports that are
overdue. Would FastLane not accept a proposal from  a PI who was late on
a
progress report?
