Charlie, I would think that in the award terms and conditions or notice from the funder, you would find language relative to the accountability of the grantee in managing the award (financial and programmatic aspects). The funds are awarded to the institution to carry out the project thereby placing the institution as the primary responsible party. Sharon D. Recipients shall adequately safeguard all such assets and assure they are used solely for authorized purposes." This is under Standards for Financial Management but the "authorized purposes" phrase implies that there is a programmatic aspect to this control and accountability. I'm not aware of anything that specifies how the institution assures that the PI will adequately safeguard assets, merely that the institution must exert effective control. Glen Glen C. Does the grantee organization simply guarantee that all its PIs are responsible and accountable to it? thanks Charlie Hathaway ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ====================================================================== ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ====================================================================== ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ======================================================================
