FW: NIH eRA eSubmission Items of Interest - February 5, 2010 *Follow-up
Item* to the eSubmission Update to Organization Official listserv:
"It's been brought to our attention that many folks have been unable to
get through to the Grants.gov Contact Center to obtain a ticket number.
Given these unusual circumstances, in this instance we will accept proof
of an email to the Grants.gov Contact Center outlining your issue and
identifying affected applications by FOA, project title and PI name in
lieu of obtaining a ticket number.

So, I think you are ok. Make sure that all of this is documented in the
cover letter as a 'reason for consideration' for the proposal being
submitted after the deadline, then submit it first thing Wednesday
morning. Also, if you are as compulsive as I am, you can confirm with
the NIH helpdesk that this the grant will be accepted.

Subject: Re: [RESADM-L] Grants.gov DOWN UNTIL WED, 2/10?
I have a proposal that I tried to submit on Friday and it froze on my
screen. It said "Processing, please don't close the window until you
receive a confirmation". Never received a confirmation.
Before 5pm I wrote to Grants.gov and also e-Commons to communicate the
problem. I believe it was a system issue due to heavy volume. Received a
service request tracking number. Today both Grants.gov and NIH are
closed.
I still need to get this submitted. Any suggestions?
Laura

Yes, the maintenance was scheduled for Feb. 6-9.

This is indeed a surprise -
I knew there was some scheduled maintenance going on, but not that
it would be down until Wednesday... (& next Monday is a holiday)
Website says: "Grants.gov is currently unavailable due to scheduled
system maintenance that will improve your Grants.gov experience.
The system will be back on-line by February 10 at 12:01 EST.
