Pre-Award Grant Specialist (OSP189)

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire
a Pre-Award Grant Specialist in the Office of Sponsored Programs at West
Virginia University. The incumbent will focus on providing project
management and administrative support by being responsible for assisting
faculty and staff with development and delivery of formal grant
proposals to external funding agencies. The position works directly with
faculty & staff to help them produce proposals with optimal prospects;
locates and downloads specific agency guidelines and forms and ensures
that proposals comply with requirements; and assists with, completes
and/or reviews forms necessary for submission of proposals to sponsor
agency.

 Responsibilities require research, organization, judgment,
resourcefulness and originality. Working knowledge of business
operations and employment programs, Federal Acquisition Regulations, NIH
& NSF guidelines, OMB circular requirements, etc. required. Proficiency
in Microsoft Office, Adobe file conversion & ability to quickly master
specialized software applications is required. The need to operate
effectively & prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment is
required.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related
filed; 3 years of broad based experience in grant & contract
administration with at least 1 year of experience with electronic
Research Administration (eRA) is required. An equivalent combination of
education and/or experience will be considered.  Competitive salary and
