Thank you: Grants.gov vs Fastlane

Thanks everyone for your comments about Fastlane and Grants.gov.
One thing said several times, but possibly not appreciated by all, is
the belief (I think fact) that a good S2S system managing things at
your institution AND communicating with Grants.gov will provide
almost all of the user friendliness and functionality of
Fastlane. We use S2S and store data for future use, have quick
submissions to Gg, don't get lots of emails, and let PIs submit
themselves following approvals and lock down of budget. Our system
does NOT have a feature whereby "multiple users login and edit the
proposal at the same time"...but that's sounds dangerous to me. And
finally, because we complete the S2S + Grants.gov equation by adding
in excellent technology at the NIH Commons to finish the process, the
whole process looks almost perfect.
Someone should and will invent a cheaper S2S product.
