Re: Recovery Act - DOE ARPA-E Funding Opp Checklist Nadler, Elsa 02 Jun 2009 16:58 EST
The multiplication of nonfunctional idiosyncratic systems and the reversion to paper are truly frightening. Can we all band together and write our Congresssional delegations, begging them to fully support Grants.gov but put teeth into the authorizing contract, thus forcing the contractor to make it work properly or suffer real dollar losses--like the contract for construction: there is a penalty for every day over the deadline. Is anyone going to write to Steven Chu who was a researcher and should understand the advantages of streamlining do not come from using bad systems. Someone at Berkeley send him a plea to go back to Grants.gov.
