In case anyone has the same problem, here is the status on my
"rejection" notice (identified again here):
Error:Could not invoke service.. I've submitted amount 5/6 times now (I've lost track) and still get the above error message. The last time I submitted was as instructed by the CSR and his supervisor - making absolutely sure there were no spaces or special characters in the file attachment names. I knew this would not fix the problem, but they insisted, so I did as I was told and got the same rejection. For all the misinformation I've received from g.g over the last week, at least these folks were willing to look at the application first hand - I emailed it directly to them and we went over it together page by page over the phone - they could find absolutely nothing wrong with it. They put in a "high-priority" research request to their IT staff, but as you all know this "high-priority" can take up to 4 days.
I called the Program Officer about this and she suggested I contact the NIH referral desk. The referral desk person said as soon as the grant image is in Commons to immediately fax them a history of the problems I had and they will see what they can do - but could make no promises.
But....what happens if it doesn't make it though g.g and into the Commons? Do I/we have any other recourse?
More sleepless nights ahead for me.
