And in any case this is major league horrible business practice.  Yes,
your password is on G.g, where it should be encrypted and unavailable to
EVERYONE, including G.g technical staff.  They can reset it for you,
they cannot look it up.

I know we have researchers' projects on the line, but this behavior on
the part of G.g help desk should not be tolerated.
