Re: NIJ application due on April 9th Carr, Cynthia E. 08 Apr 2009 09:23 EST

Hello!

We asked this question of NIJ and got this answer this morning:

If you received a tracking number, your application will be forwarded
to GMS. You do not have to reapply.

So, on this basis, we at LMU will not reapply.

very best!

We submitted ours through grants.gov last Friday and received confirmation. Should we reapply through OJP?

Hello and thanks for this info --

we did submit this to grants.gov Monday, and they accepted it. I guess I had better get busy and see about another submission!

best,

Subject: [RESADM-L] NIJ application due on April 9th

If you are working on an application to the National Institute for Justice that is due on April 9th, the grants.gov is not accepting applications for the solicitation - NIJ-2009-2007, CFDA # 16.560. I talked with a person at NIJ and she indicated that application need to be done directly through the OJP website:

The Grants.gov website is currently not accepting applications for this solicitation. We don't control Grants.gov so please apply through the OJP website at: http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/funding/solicitations.htm <http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/funding/solicitations.htm> . That is the OJP Funding Resources webpage and it contains a wealth of information and all required forms. At the bottom of that page, you will also see a phone number for the Grants Management Hotline should you encounter technical difficulties or have questions about GMS.

Please click on the first bullet on the above webpage: OJP Funding Opportunities. Scroll down the page to NIJ. The Crime and Justice Research solicitation is the first one. Click on GMS to the right of the screen. It will take you into the GMS.

I haven't tried it yet but I wanted to send out a warning to the network.
