This response pertains to questions regarding the 2009 Summit on the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that was recently posted on the
Research Administrators list serve.  I was disappointed to read a comment in
which it was suggested that this summit was a "scam", and I felt compelled to
respond to those remarks.
 The Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs, University of Missouri is a
highly regarded school of public affairs that has received recognition for its
curriculum and outstanding programming and its rigorous research on a variety
of public policy issues.  The Hawthorn Institute and PrimePoint have been
providing grant training to a multitude of public and nonprofit organizations for
over 10 years, with national reputations for quality and value.  The grants
summit curriculum has been tested multiple times over the past 8 years, and
has been proven to exceed the industry standard, with average participant

agenda of speakers from national associations with exceedingly high

addition, our nationally-recognized faculty from the Truman School, The
Hawthorn Institute and PrimePoint will provide more detailed information on
grant writing and grant management methodologies that can be utilized to
increase the likelihood of winning grants.
