I had the same problem with the cover page showing a different amount than the cumulative budget page on 2 grants a couple of weeks ago. I spoke with 2 different techs at FASTLANE, both of whom told me they had no idea how that happened and suggested we submit an UPDATE since we had already submitted the applications before I noticed the problem. I contacted the Program Officer on one of the applications, and he said he would contact FASTLANE because he felt it had to be a problem with the "bridging" of the budget and cover pages with FASTLANE. Sorry to hear you had the problem, but glad I wasn't the only one having that problem. Needless to say, I've started checking those totals out on all apps before we submit. The only way I was able to get the cover page to recognize the budget total was to go to the budget pages and in each one hit "calculate and save". Then the cover page recognized the cumulative budget total. For those of you who were attempting to meet the NSF deadline yesterday and had difficulty submitting, we've just seen another FastLane quirk. We were able to submit at 5:03 pm yesterday (before receiving the announcement that we had a 24 hour extension). Today, we checked the copy of the proposal that we printed right after submission and discovered that several pages were missing from the Supp Docs section (first 9 pages out of 20). We immediately pulled up the submitted proposal in FastLane and could not see those nine pages. We knew, however, that they were included in the uploaded document. On a second attempt to check the submitted proposal, the pages appeared. This happened to three of us who were all looking at the proposal at about the same time on three different computers and at two different institutions. I plan to continue to call up the proposal later today and again tomorrow several times to make sure all the pages are still visible.
