I wonder if part of the problem is unfamiliarity with the system, or the process.  People who work with g.g every day may have an easier time coping with its, let's say "idiosyncrasies" than someone who works with it infrequently. And, if the system is spitting out nearly random error messages never seen before, that makes it a whole lot harder.
