postpone - Help Grants.gov with new system Bob Beattie 09 Feb 2009 12:06 EST

Another good (crazy) idea of mine gone astray. Looks like the G.g
folks are have some settling in problems with the new build. There
are these random log in problems. So let's postpone the volunteer
stress test for a while. I tried to submit an application earlier
today and got two bad credential messages, but the third try was
good. The first time you assume you made a logging in error, but
then you do it very carefully the second time. When that fails you
know it's not you but the system. So you do it a third time. Anyone
not get logged in
an a third try?

One really good bit of success with the build is that all receipt
messages now have the Grant number at the front of the subject line
so you can sort you message folder for Grants.gov by subject and
easily see if you have all four messages.

So we will hold off on our test for a while. Thanks to all who were
interested in helping.

Everyone, keep us posted as to what errors you are getting and other
problems.

Good luck

Bob

If 200 people submit at the same time, how does that tell us if it
works at 2,000 people at the same time? And in any case, I've heard
there were 10,000 applications coming in on this deadline. Sounds
like they should be working toward 10,000 at the same time, which is
50 times more than the 200.
