US Dept of Ed just told us that even though we have a case number and tried to submit on time that we're late.  They told us that it's our fault that we waited until the last day and that they had been advising applicants to submit early because of Grants.gov slowness.  Their only other option is for us to get a hard copy to their office by 11:59pm EST tonight - I'm not sure how we're going to pull this one off.

If sponsors are not going to take our applications because Grants.gov is "slow", this puts universities in a very sticky situation.  I finally got a proposal in today that I've been trying to submit for THE LAST TWO DAYS (it's also due 2/2 to IMLS).  I had the same problem Andrew has been experiencing.  And Grants.gov told me it was because the system was "slow".

I mean, how early are we going to start trying to submit to get these in through Grants.gov if this continues?!  I'm with the person this morning who said they wanted to run and hide next week.
