New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences is a

mathematical and computational sciences as a unified field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Courant Institute currently has an exceptional opportunity for a Senior
Sponsored Projects Officer. This position will manage complex sponsored
research grants, contracts, gift and faculty "start-up" funds. Some of
the key responsibilities include:
- Consult with Principal Investigators to plan budgets, prepare
financial forecasts, determine appropriate spending according to
contracts specifications and prepare grant reporting
- Develop various financial reports to track expenses on grants for
sponsoring agents
- Prepare reports of awards and expenses for Director or Dean's Office,
review reports to assess accuracy of School and University records and
make recommendations to supervisor for future budgeting improvements
- Advise principal investigators and researchers on plans for new
projects, status of their accounts, new funding opportunities, and
preparation and submission of grant proposal materials
- Respond to all grant budget inquiries from within the University and
federal and non-federal sponsors
- Manage payroll services to ensure payments to research personnel are
appropriately charged and accounted for
- Supervise office support and develop staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and 3 years' relevant experience with budget or grants
management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of laws, principles, rules and policies relating to federally
funded grants and contracts to universities. Excellent analytical,
problem-solving, and communication skills. Knowledge of database and
spreadsheet software.
Related experience in an academic or research environment and knowledge
of A-110, A-21, FAR and CAS federal regulations preferred.
