Payback for State Funding Yvonne Rumbaugh 09 Jan 2009 18:43 EST
I was just wondering if there are any states out there that require (or
request) University and/or research institutes to "pay back" funds that
have been provided for research buildings by state funds.

For example: University A in State B receives $1M from State B to build
a new research building. University A uses the depreciation of the
building as part of its F&A rate and therefore State B wants to be paid
back because University A is recovering F&A funds from projects out of
its F&A rate. If there are any Universities or research institutes in
which you know of that this has happened to, I would be interested to know.

Thanks!
Yvonne
