Any equipment purchased from the grant is for the program use. Once the program is completed/ended the equipment stays with the university. Jenifer R. If so, then it is their property. Their insurance should cover it. If it belongs to the grantor, then it depends upon their policy. -----Original Message----- From: Research Administration List [mailto:xxxxxx@hrinet.org] On Behalf Of Jenifer Chin Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2008 3:47 PM To: xxxxxx@hrinet.org Subject: [RESADM-L] replacement of equipment loss due to theft If a break-in occurs and computers are stolen that are for an Upward Bound program, is the grant responsible for replacing them? I thought the university should insure or at least be responsible for equipment on its property regardless of the original funding source.
