PREFERRED SKILLS: Five or more years of experience in Contracts or Research
Administration with budgeting required.
POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates research grant and contract submissions for
Kaiser Permanente Colorado KPCO region. Works with Contract Administrator
to assist in negotiation and coordination of legal agreements with universities,
pharmaceutical companies, and foundations. Responsible for partnering with
KPCO Principal Investigators to ensure proper Grants and Contracts
management and compliance. Acts as Research Administrative advisory to the
Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the protection of human subjects and the
Research Review Committee (RRC), assuring compliance with federal and KPCO
regulations. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and
integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in
accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities and applicable regulatory
requirements, external laws and accreditation standards. Appropriately reports
observed fraud or abuse.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in
business or related field. Master's degree preferred. Significant experience
(usually 5+ years) in research administration. Proficiency in computer word
processing, spreadsheet, and database program. Ability to interpret and apply
federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures relative to the
administration of research activities. Strong personnel management and
interpersonal skills required. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management
Partnership environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reviews, coordinates, and submits all externally-
funded research proposals from KPCO region to the appropriate funding
agencies. Acts as Research Administrative advisory to the Institutional Review
Board (IRB) for the protection of human subjects and the Research Review
Committee (RRC), assuring compliance with federal and KPCO regulations.
Provide final budget approval for the RRC. Ensures appropriate information,
reports and legal documentation are provided to meet organizational and
funding agency requirements and needs. Manages the department database
which tracks Program wide research activities, including funding source,
investigators, budget awards, account codes, project status, etc. Manages in
partnership with Investigators, internal department budgets, and federal and
non-federal grants and contracts. Acts as primary liaison for financial and
administrative matters to regional and interregional KP offices; federal, state
and private funding agencies; outside consultants, contractors and
collaboration academic and other institutions.
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $5,612 - $7,154 (Monthly)
