Just in case there is anyone out there that missed the message from NSF
that reinstated Times New Roman I thought I would pass along this
message I received from NSF.

Dear Ms. Metzger,
Thank you for contacting NSF. Your email was forwarded to us in the
Policy Office for response. You are correct that in June of 2007 we
instituted specific fonts that had to be used when preparing an NSF
proposal and Times New Roman (TNR) was not one of them. But then in the
next revision after that, we allowed the use of TNR and that rule
continues with this iteration of the GPG. So you can use TNR at a size
of 11 or higher; I hope this answers your question.

Subject: Question on '09 GPG
The new '09 GPG still lists Time News Roman font as acceptable (page 30
of the pdf version) this was changed in June of 2007. Have the font
requirements been changed again for 2009?
Chapter 2, Section B
Use one of the following typefaces identified below:
● Arial11, Courier New, or Palatino Linotype at a font size of 10
points or larger ● Times New Roman at a font size of 11 points or larger
● Computer Modern family of fonts at a font size of 11 points or larger
A font size of less than 10 points may be used for mathematical formulas
or equations,
Thanks,
