I've had that problem as well.  Unfortunately, s/he should be using a
new SF424 Form every single time downloaded from Grants.gov

You could try to change the dates on the SF424 Face Page and see if
that helps?

I believe I got caught - so could not go backwards and it was a
nightmare - ended up re-doing file and it never was submitted.  PI
learned lesson.
